Faith + Justice Academy Mission Statement

The Faith + Justice Academy at Georgetown University’s Center on Faith and Justice seeks to equip students and practitioners with a theo-ethical vision for substantive engagement in civic and public life, and effective advocacy at local, state, and federal levels.  The academy proceeds from the conviction that what is needed most to confront the pressing challenges facing our democracy lies not in mere conservatism or progressivism, but in the deep cultivation of a society’s moral integrity, evidenced by the well-being of its most marginalized and most vulnerable. Housed in the McCourt School of Public Policy—and situated against the backdrop of our nation’s capital—the Faith + Justice Academy will advance a deeper understanding and societal integration of faith and values, and a shared commitment to the common good.
